Warm undyed cream — the neutral that goes with everything.
1.0 TOG, waffle-weave TENCEL™ — the year-round nursery weight, built for 69–75°F nursery overnights.
Why waffle. The waffle structure creates a million small air pockets across the surface of the fabric. Air is a better insulator than fiber. That's why waffle fabric feels warmer than its actual TOG suggests and breathes better than a flat-knit at the same weight. The texture also gives the bag a different hand than the smooth TENCEL™ — softer to the touch, with a quilted look that photographs well in the nursery.
Material. TENCEL™ Lyocell, woven into a waffle structure with DuPont™ Sorona insulation. Wood-pulp fiber, closed-loop production, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified. The Sorona traps warmth without adding bulk. The waffle does the rest.
The print. Warm cream solid, undyed and unprinted. The off-white that doesn't compete with the rest of the nursery.
Construction. Sleeveless. 2-way zipper opening from the bottom for diaper changes without unzipping past the chest. Soft fabric binding at the neck. Hidden seams against skin. The shoulder geometry is the same as the standard TENCEL™ sleep bag — snug fit at the shoulders is the safe-sleep dimension.
Waffle vs smooth TENCEL™. The smooth-weave TENCEL™ bag is the everyday workhorse. The waffle is the one that gets photographed and the one that gets requested by name at the next baby shower. Functionally similar, surface-different. Most households end up owning both.
Adjacent TOGs in the same print. Room running warm? The 0.5 TOG Muslin Sleep Bag in Coconut Milk covers 75–81°F summer nurseries. Cold nursery in winter? The 2.5 TOG TENCEL™ Sleep Bag picks up at 61–68°F.
Sizing. 0–6M (8–18 lb), 6–18M (18–28 lb), 18–36M (28–38 lb).
Care. Machine wash cold, tumble dry low. The waffle structure holds up to repeated washing without flattening. Do not bleach. Iron only the non-printed areas if needed (most parents don't iron sleep sacks).
Tested and certified. Fabric carries OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification. Garment passes CPSC, CPSIA, and ASTM safety testing. Built around the American Academy of Pediatrics safe-sleep guidance. Independent B Corp Certification on the brand.
Common questions
Is TENCEL™ better than bamboo for baby sleep sacks?
TENCEL™ Lyocell is a wood-pulp fiber spun in a closed-loop process. It pulls moisture off the skin faster than bamboo rayon and pills less through wash cycles. Bamboo rayon is softer at first feel; TENCEL™ holds its hand after fifty washes. For sleep sacks that get washed weekly, TENCEL™ lasts longer.
What TOG rating should my baby wear?
Match the TOG to the room. 0.5 TOG for 75–81°F. 1.0 TOG for 69–75°F, the most common nursery temperature in the US. 2.5 TOG for 61–68°F cold nurseries. A nursery thermometer costs $10 and removes the guesswork.
What should baby wear under a 1.0 TOG sleep sack?
A short-sleeve bodysuit at the top end of the range (74–75°F), a long-sleeve bodysuit in the middle (70–73°F), or a footed sleeper at the cool end (69–70°F). The TOG number is the bag's contribution — the under-layer fine-tunes.
