2.5 TOG, waffle-weave TENCEL™ — the cold-nursery winter weight, built for 61–68°F nursery overnights.
Why waffle. The waffle structure creates a million small air pockets across the surface of the fabric. Air is a better insulator than fiber. That's why waffle fabric feels warmer than its actual TOG suggests and breathes better than a flat-knit at the same weight. The texture also gives the bag a different hand than the smooth TENCEL™ — softer to the touch, with a quilted look that photographs well in the nursery.
Material. TENCEL™ Lyocell, woven into a waffle structure with DuPont™ Sorona insulation. Wood-pulp fiber, closed-loop production, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified. The Sorona traps warmth without adding bulk. The waffle does the rest.
The print. Deep teal-peacock solid. Reads richer than expected against neutral nursery walls.
Construction. Sleeveless. 2-way zipper opening from the bottom for diaper changes without unzipping past the chest. Soft fabric binding at the neck. Hidden seams against skin. The shoulder geometry is the same as the standard TENCEL™ sleep bag — snug fit at the shoulders is the safe-sleep dimension.

Care. Machine wash cold, tumble dry low. The waffle structure holds up to repeated washing without flattening. Do not bleach. Iron only the non-printed areas if needed (most parents don't iron sleep sacks).

When is a 2.5 TOG sleep sack the right choice?
When the nursery sits between 61 and 68°F overnight — cold-snap winter, drafty older homes, basement bedrooms. Below 61°F you're past sleep-sack territory and into raising the thermostat.
Will a 2.5 TOG be too warm for an average winter nursery?
If your nursery sits at 69–75°F overnight in winter, the 1.0 TOG TENCEL™ is the right weight. The 2.5 TOG is for genuinely cold rooms. Doubling a sleeper under a 1.0 TOG is also a common winter solution — but you can overheat a baby that way faster than with a single 2.5 TOG bag.
What is DuPont™ Sorona insulation?
Sorona is a plant-based polymer fiber DuPont produces from corn-derived feedstock. It traps warmth without bulk, so a 2.5 TOG sleep bag doesn't feel like a winter parka on a six-month-old. It also keeps its loft through wash cycles longer than polyester batting.
