Warm undyed cream — the neutral that goes with everything.

Waffle-weave TENCEL™ sleepsuit, 1.0 TOG. The mobile-toddler version of the sleep bag for cold-walker phase nurseries at 69–75°F.

The 6–18M sleep problem. Baby has outgrown the swaddle, wants the arms free, but still needs wearable-blanket warmth. A closed sleep bag becomes a trip hazard the moment the baby starts walking in the crib. Pajamas alone are too cold for the 69–75°F nursery overnight. The sleepsuit fills that gap — same TOG warmth as a sleep bag, separated legs so the toddler can stand, walk, and crawl in it.

Material. Waffle-weave TENCEL™ Lyocell with DuPont™ Sorona insulation. Wood-pulp fiber that Lenzing produces in a closed-loop process, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified. The waffle structure traps small air pockets across the fabric surface, so the garment feels warmer than its TOG and breathes better than flat-knit at the same weight. The Sorona is a plant-based polymer fiber from corn-derived feedstock that holds warmth without bulk.

The print. Warm cream solid, undyed and unprinted. The off-white that doesn't compete with the rest of the nursery.

Construction. Sleeveless — closed arms are how you overheat a winter baby; the warmth math lives in the body of the suit. Separated legs that run to just below the knee. 2-way zippers from the chin to the inner thigh on each leg so a diaper change doesn't require undressing the whole baby. Hidden seams. Fabric guard at the zipper top. The waffle adds visual texture and a slightly different hand than the smooth TENCEL™ sleepsuit.

When to switch from sleep bag to sleepsuit. Most families switch around 12–15 months, when the baby is walking confidently in the crib. The closed-leg sleep bag becomes a trip hazard at that point. The sleepsuit gives the same TOG warmth with mobility.

Adjacent products. Pair with a long-sleeve TENCEL™ sleeper as the under-layer, or browse the full sleepsuit collection. The 1.0 TOG TENCEL™ Sleep Bag is the pre-walking version of this format.

Sizing. 6–18M (fits 18–28 lb), 18–24M (fits 24–30 lb), 2T (fits 28–34 lb). Size to current weight and height. A sleepsuit that's too long at the leg becomes its own trip hazard.

Care. Machine wash cold, tumble dry low. The waffle holds its loft through repeated washing. Do not bleach. Do not iron printed panels.

Safety & certification. AAP safe-sleep compliant. Tested to CPSC, CPSIA, and ASTM standards. Material certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100. Loulou Lollipop is a Certified B Corporation.

Common questions

What's the difference between a sleepsuit and a sleep sack?

A sleep sack has closed legs (or an opening at the bottom) and keeps the legs together for sleep. A sleepsuit has separated legs — the baby can stand, crawl, and walk in it. The sleepsuit is the wearable blanket for the 6–18M phase when the baby is mobile but still needs the warmth of a sleep bag.

When should I switch from sleep sack to sleepsuit?

Once the baby is walking confidently in the crib (around 12–15 months for most), the closed-leg sleep bag becomes a trip hazard. The sleepsuit gives the same TOG warmth with separated legs so they can stand safely. Some families switch earlier if the baby protests the sleep bag.

Can a baby wear a sleepsuit year-round?

At 1.0 TOG, yes — in a 69–75°F nursery, which is the most common US bedroom temperature. For warmer summer nights, switch to lighter pajamas. For cold winter nurseries below 68°F, add a long-sleeve bodysuit underneath.
