Baby Swaddle in Tanboocel® Bamboo Viscose - The Beautiful Game
A second swaddle isn't a luxury — it's what gets you through the 4 a.m. diaper failure with the first one in the wash.
The soccer print, on the 47-inch wrap that actually holds.
It measures 47 by 47 inches — the size that actually holds. At about 44 inches, hospital swaddles leave no fabric to spare — and spare fabric is what keeps a wrap snug through the night. Three inches of extra fabric doesn't sound like a feature until you've lost a wrap to a leg kick.
Material. Tanboocel® Bamboo Viscose, blended with cotton and woven into open-weave muslin. Tanboocel® is a branded bamboo viscose made through a closed-loop process — third-party verified, with a lower water and chemical footprint than the generic bamboo rayon most brands quietly label "bamboo." It gets softer after the fifth wash than on day one, the opposite of how cotton ages.
The print. The Beautiful Game — Loulou's soccer-themed print, the one grandparents tend to buy on sight.
One blanket, many jobs. The newborn swaddle is the first use. When the swaddle stage closes — usually between 8 and 16 weeks — the same square of muslin starts its second career as stroller shade, nursing cover, and tummy-time mat. It outlasts the swaddle window by years.
When to stop swaddling. The arms-in swaddle ends the moment your baby shows signs of rolling — usually 8 to 16 weeks. The AAP guidance is firm on this. Past that point, switch to a 0.5 TOG muslin sleep bag with the arms free.
Adjacent products. Once your baby outgrows the wrap, move to a 0.5 TOG muslin sleep bag, or match the print with the Beautiful Game sleeper.
Sizing. One size, 47 by 47 inches — bigger than most hospital wraps, which is the whole point.
Care. Machine wash cold and tumble dry low. Tanboocel® takes the dryer better than bamboo rayon, with less pilling and shrinkage over time. Don't bleach; iron on low only if you need to.
Safety & certification. AAP safe-sleep compliant and tested to CPSC, CPSIA, and ASTM standards. The material is certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100, and Loulou Lollipop is a Certified B Corporation.
Common questions
How big is it?
47 by 47 inches — larger than most hospital wraps, which top out around 44 and start slipping loose at 3 a.m.
Can a baby sleep in it loose?
No. A muslin swaddle is for wrapping, not for unsupervised sleep as a loose blanket. Once your baby outgrows the wrap, move to a 0.5 TOG muslin sleep bag.
Does it soften up?
It starts soft and keeps loosening with every wash for the first ten cycles or so, then stabilizes.
