The Mermaids muslin quilt is four layers of Tanboocel® Bamboo Viscose and cotton muslin, lightly quilted through and reversible. It measures 47 by 47 inches — wide enough to be a real tummy-time mat on a hard floor, not a token square that rucks up the moment they push against it.

Material. Four layers of Tanboocel® Bamboo Viscose blended with cotton and woven into open-weave muslin. Tanboocel® is a branded bamboo viscose made through a closed-loop process — third-party verified, with a lower water and chemical footprint than the generic bamboo rayon most brands quietly label "bamboo." Four layers give it weight and drape without making it warm; the open weave keeps air moving through it.

The print. Ivory ground with watercolor mermaids in pastel pink and peach with brown hair, peach binding.

Where it earns its keep. Tummy time on a hardwood floor. Under the play gym. Over the legs in a stroller on a cool morning. Spread on the grass at a park, or over a lap during a feed. Light enough for a warm afternoon, layerable when it turns.

A note on the crib. This is not crib bedding, and we would rather say so than sell one more blanket. The American Academy of Pediatrics is direct about it: babies do not need blankets when they sleep, and a blanket in the crib can cause overheating or suffocation. Keep the crib bare and put the warmth on the baby — a wearable sleep bag does that job. The quilt is for the floor, the stroller, and your lap.

It outlasts the baby stage. Four layers of muslin soften with every wash rather than wearing thin, so the quilt that started as a tummy-time mat is usually still around as a couch blanket years later.

Care. Machine wash cold and tumble dry low. Don't bleach; iron on low only if you need to. Tanboocel® takes the dryer better than bamboo rayon, with less pilling and shrinkage over time.

Safety & certification. Tested to CPSC, CPSIA, and ASTM standards. The material is certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100, and Loulou Lollipop is a Certified B Corporation.
