Why We Chose TENCEL Lyocell for Our New Collection
Our new fall 2020 collection is not just a celebration of babies and all of the joy they bring,
but it is also a celebration of our planet. The fabrics in our new collection are made
exclusively with TENCEL Lyocell fibers and organic cotton jersey knit.
These fabrics are sumptuously soft against baby’s skin, while also being extremely gentle
on the environment. Lyocell is completely biodegradable and compostable. As a brand that
focuses on the well-being of babies and families, our goal at Loulou LOLLIPOP is to tread
lightly on the earth and to be ever-mindful of the footprint we leave behind.
When we discovered TENCEL Lyocell, we knew it was a perfect fit for Loulou LOLLIPOP.
What is TENCEL Lyocell?
TENCEL branded Lyocell uses a sustainably sourced and environmentally responsible
process that includes dissolving wood pulp in a nontoxic organic solvent to create the fibers.
TENCEL Lyocell fabric is made from upcycled cotton scraps in addition to sustainably
sourced wood pulp. The Lyocell production process includes taking fabric scraps from
post-industrial waste and removing any contaminants to make a cotton cellulose pulp. Wood
pulp, water and solvent are then blended with the cellulose pulp.
To really focus on the recycling efforts, the solvent is repeatedly used to cut down on any
waste. The entire TENCEL Lyocell process uses 95% less water than it would take to make
cotton.
In addition to the positive impact on the environment, TENCEL Lyocell uses Eco-Soft
Technology, which lends itself well to baby gear due to its exquisite softness and
chlorine-free bleaching process. The TENCEL Lyocell fabric is also hypoallergenic and
absorbs moisture more efficiently than cotton, consequently providing a less favorable
environment for bacterial growth.
Lyocell is quickly catching on in the fashion industry and becoming a favorite fabric of
leading designers.

We focused on essential babywear and accessories with careful attention to detail.
Unisex Sleeper
The perfect comfy sleeper for babies 0-24 months, our classic style becomes an exquisitely
soft nighttime essential thanks to Tencel Lyocell fabric. We carefully thought out each
feature in order to keep your little one comfortable, including fold-over hand and foot cuffs,
full length two-way YKK zipper and soft flat seams. Our sleeper is available in twelve
adorable seasonal prints and colours.
Long Sleeved Unisex Bodysuit
From lounging to playtime, the long-sleeved unisex bodysuit is a wardrobe must have for
little ones. The breathable, moisture-absorbent Lyocell fabric offers natural comfort against
baby’s skin. Our twelve fun and fashionable prints make our bodysuit a go-to choice for
everyday wear.
Long Sleeved Girls Bodysuit
Made with the same careful attention to detail and eco-friendly fabric as our unisex
bodysuit, our girls’ style has a pretty ruffle to add a light feminine touch.
Knot Hat
The classic newborn hat style is now available in a super-soft, earth-friendly fabric. Our
