Where it earns its keep. Tummy time on a hardwood floor. Under the play gym. Over the legs in a stroller on a cool morning. Spread on the grass at a park, or over a lap during a feed. Light enough for a warm afternoon, layerable when it turns.

A note on the crib. This is not crib bedding, and we would rather say so than sell one more blanket. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is direct about it: babies do not need blankets when they sleep, and a blanket in the crib can cause overheating or suffocation. Keep the crib bare and put the warmth on the baby — a wearable sleep bag does that job. The quilt is for the floor, the stroller, and your lap.

It outlasts the baby stage. Four layers of muslin soften with every wash rather than wearing thin, so the quilt that started as a tummy-time mat is usually still around as a couch blanket years later.

Irresistibly soft, airy, and breathable, our muslin is called Tanboocel. It's made from bamboo tree pulp through a manufacturing process that uses 99% less water than conventional cotton.
