Sleepsuit 1.0 TOG - Mermaids
Watercolor mermaids — the soft-pastel under-the-sea pattern.
The 6–18M sleep problem: baby has outgrown the swaddle, wants their arms free, but still needs wearable-blanket warmth. A closed sleep bag becomes a trip hazard once the baby is walking in the crib. Pajamas alone are too cold for the 69–75°F nursery overnight.
This is what goes in between.
Material. TENCEL™ Lyocell shell with DuPont™ Sorona insulation, 1.0 TOG. Wood-pulp fiber on the outside, plant-based polymer insulation on the inside. The same material structure as the 1.0 TOG sleep bag, with separated legs so the toddler can walk, stand, and crawl in it.
The print. Ivory ground with watercolor mermaids in pastel pink and peach with brown hair, peach binding.
Construction. Sleeveless — closed arms are how you overheat a winter baby; the warmth math lives in the body of the suit, not the limbs. Separated legs that hit just below the knee — long enough to keep warm, short enough not to drag. 2-way zipper from the chin to the inner thigh on each leg, so a diaper change doesn't require unzipping the whole garment. Hidden seams. Fabric guard at the zipper top for sensitive necks.
When to switch from sleep bag to sleepsuit. Most families switch around 12–15 months, when the baby is walking confidently in the crib. The closed-leg sleep bag becomes a trip hazard at that point. The sleepsuit gives the same TOG warmth with mobility. Some families switch earlier if the baby protests the closed-leg bag; others stay in sleep bags longer if the baby is content.
Why most premium brands skip this format. The sleepsuit category is small — most premium sleepwear brands jump from sleep bags straight to pajamas, leaving walking toddlers either staying in a sleep bag they're trying to step out of, or jumping into pajamas in a nursery that's too cold for pajamas alone. We make the sleepsuit because the gap is real.

Common questions
What's the difference between a sleepsuit and a sleep sack?
A sleep sack has closed legs (or an opening at the bottom) and keeps the legs together for sleep. A sleepsuit has separated legs — the baby can stand, crawl, and walk in it. The sleepsuit is the wearable blanket for the 6–18M phase when the baby is mobile but still needs the warmth of a sleep bag.
When should I switch from sleep sack to sleepsuit?
Once the baby is walking confidently in the crib (around 12–15 months for most), the closed-leg sleep bag becomes a trip hazard. The sleepsuit gives the same TOG warmth with separated legs so they can stand safely. Some families switch earlier if the baby protests the sleep bag.
Can a baby wear a sleepsuit year-round?
At 1.0 TOG, yes — in a 69–75°F nursery, which is the most common US bedroom temperature. For warmer summer nights, switch to lighter pajamas. For cold winter nurseries below 68°F, add a long-sleeve bodysuit underneath.
