Soft against the skin and quick to change at 3 a.m. — the under-layer that helps a baby settle faster and wake less.

Moose, bear, puffin, the loon, the Mountie — Canadian iconography in watercolor.

Forbes named these the best baby pajamas in 2025. The sleeper is the workhorse of the under-layer.

Material. TENCEL™ Lyocell with spandex for stretch. The TENCEL™ is the wood-pulp fiber Lenzing produces in a closed-loop process — 99% of water and solvents recycled, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified. The spandex is for shoulder stretch when you're getting a sleepy baby's arms through at 7:30 p.m. Together they're softer than cotton and they hold their hand through multiple washes. The pajamas your baby still has at 18 months are TENCEL™.

The print. Mint-seafoam green ground with detailed watercolor moose, bear, puffin, lighthouse, Mountie on horseback, maple leaves, evergreen mountains, Parliament buildings, Canadian flag, and a 'Canada' wordmark.

Construction. Fold-over cuffs at the hands for the first few months (covers the fingernails without mittens that fall off), then fold them back when the baby wants the hands free. 2-way zipper from the chin to the ankle, opening from the bottom for diaper changes. Tagless inside the neck. Reinforced seams at the shoulders and crotch — the stress points on a sleeper that gets pulled on and off twice a day.

Sleepers and sleep bags work together. The sleeper is the under-layer — it doesn't carry the warmth math on its own. Pair with a 1.0 TOG TENCEL™ Sleep Bag for a 69–75°F nursery, a 0.5 TOG muslin sleep bag for 75–81°F, or wear alone in a warm room above 75°F if the baby protests the sleep bag.

Why TENCEL™ for a sleeper. We match the fiber to the job. A sleeper gets worn most nights and washed two or three times a week, so here we choose TENCEL™ Lyocell — a long, smooth fiber that keeps its softness and shape through heavy laundering and carries heat off the skin all night. Our muslin pieces answer a different brief: for swaddles, 0.5 TOG summer sleep bags, and crib sheets we choose Tanboocel® Bamboo Viscose, because an open muslin weave is the most breathable thing you can put near a baby in the heat. Both are premium fibers — we pick the one that fits the use.

Sizing. 0–3M, 3–6M, 6–9M, 9–12M, 12–18M, 18–24M. Size to current measurement. A sleeper that's too long bunches at the hands and ankles and rides up overnight.

Care. Machine wash cold, tumble dry low. Do not bleach. Do not iron printed areas. The fold-over cuffs are designed to be stretched and released a few thousand times without losing shape.

Compliance. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 on the fabric, CPSC/CPSIA/ASTM on the garment, AAP safe-sleep guidance on the design. Loulou Lollipop is a Certified B Corporation — a third-party audit of how we treat people and the planet, not a self-claim.

Common questions

Are TENCEL™ pajamas better than generic bamboo pajamas?

For longevity, yes. TENCEL™ keeps its surface through repeated, heavy laundering. TENCEL™ Lyocell holds its surface after multiple washes, which matters because pajamas are the most-washed item in the nursery. The pajamas your baby still has at 18 months are TENCEL™.

What temperature should baby's pajamas be?

Pajamas are the under-layer, not the sleep system. Match weight to the room: long-sleeve TENCEL™ under a 1.0 TOG bag for 69–75°F nurseries, short-sleeve under 0.5 TOG for 75–81°F, sleeper under 2.5 TOG for 61–68°F. The bag does the warmth math.

Why fold-over cuffs?

Newborn fingernails grow fast and the baby scratches the face long before the parents can keep up with trimming. Fold-over cuffs cover the hands without mittens that fall off. Around 4–6 months, fold them back — the baby wants the hands free.
